Nicole Donaldson (born in South Africa, 1981) is an abstract artist working in mixed media.
Raised as the daughter of an artist, Nicole cultivated a profound appreciation for art from a young age. She pursued studies at Chelsea College of Art & Design in London in 2007, shaping the foundation for her art.
Nicole’s art is characterized by a process-intensive approach. Her creations involve the incorporation of layers of cement, paint, and ephemera. By continually adding and subtracting materials, Donaldson builds paintings with a weathered surface, allowing textures and marks to consistently unveil themselves. Her travels in Africa have fueled her passion for organic materials and earthy color palettes.
